Sunflower - Sunspot
Sunspot Sunflowers are short growing, bright yellow sunflowers. They grow between two and three feet tall and offer 10 inch diameter blooms. They are drought tolerant and require a lot of sun. Birds flock to these flowers as they provide a substantial amount of food for them. Sunflowers are good cut flowers. Planting should be done in the spring after the danger of frost is past. There are other varieties of sunflowers that are also produced in Oregon. Some taller ones include ‘Lemon Queen’ and ‘Autumn Beauty Mix’. Those varieties stand between five and seven feet tall.
