Canada Goldenrod
Canada Goldenrod can be found in most states throughout the country. This is a perennial herb with a long life span and a late blooming flower. It is a member of the sunflower family. Full sun to partial shade should be provided where Canada Goldenrod is planted. It can withstand some drought, though it is not highly drought tolerant. In some parts of Europe and China this has become known as an invasive species. Insects, birds and other wildlife are attracted to this plant. If trimmed back each year, Canada Goldenrod will still grow up to four feet tall. If it is not trimmed back it may reach up to six feet in height. In the Northwest, Canada Goldenrod should be fall planted in order to yield the best results. Canda Goldenrod is a native flower and will take more patience to grow. Some natives take longer to get out of the ground and others may take up to three years before they fully establish themselves.
